Openchrome svn811 in xorg 7.4 ok , svn 856 in 7.6 broken

Post by jamesarbrown » Tue Feb 01, 2011 8:32 pm

Hi Pablo,

My old openchrome is currently on with MM 0.73 which works fine. Somewhere between there and svn 862 they broke the TV out.

Basically what I am coming around to asking, would it be possible to get xorg7.6 makefile amended to a newer than svn862 version of openchrome?

I have just tried plugging svn909 into the makefile... will let you know how it goes.

In MiniMyth's SVN, Xorg 7.6 uses xf86-video-openchrome SVN 909. Therefore, could you please let me know whether or not SVN 909 works?

Hi Pablo,

Not sure.... yes the driver works, but not with an xorg.conf that used to work and according to docs should still work. It would seem the following line has to be edited out

Code: Select all

# Option "ActiveDevice" "TV"
So something xorg7.6 seems to be able to decide for itself, better than the conf. As MM insists on having some form of output specified, for now I am just fetching an xorg.conf.

Really can't think what to try here, if there is anything you want me to try let me know.

James

Working xorg.conf

Code: Select all

Section "Files"
# ModulePath "/usr/lib/nvidia/xorg/modules"
    ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules"

Odd. As far as I can tell from a relatively quick look as the openchrome source code, the "ActiveDevice" option with the value "TV" should still work.

Posted on Openchrome and Xavier did ask for logs. Sent him those. No reply yet. Will let you know.

It seems usual OC problems. Only difference I could find in the Xorg start logs is this was in the working conf near the end of X startup.
[510563.237] (II) CHROME(0): ViaDisplayEnableCRT

And everything else seemed identical.
