SourceForge is a nightmare

Hi Pablo,

I have been using the garchive heavily over past weeks, and sourceforge links are pretty much always failing.

Code: Select all

--2011-02-04 14:33:20-- http://easynews.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/libavc1394/libavc1394-0.5.4.tar.gz
Resolving easynews.dl.sourceforge.net... 69.16.168.245
Connecting to easynews.dl.sourceforge.net|69.16.168.245|:80...
This is really slowing down the build, as buy the time I notice, we are somewhere up at try 15, ctrl c aborts, uses your achive, downloads ok, but then catches the ctrl c and sadly exists and have to issue make garchive again.

Are these sourceforge links the best ones to these archives?

James

I have a really under used server in London in a managed datacentre (like 300 http hits a day max), if you are sheltering your server and ever need a FOC mirror please email me. Haven't set a mirror before, but can't be hard :)

I have noticed this in the past 24 hours. As a result, I have been trying to figure out what to use as the MASTER_SITES URL for software hosted in sf.net. I believe that I have found a solution. Once I have tested it, I will commit it to SVN. If it fails during testing, the I will just comment out the MASTER_SITES that point to sf.net or its mirrors so that the software will be downloaded from minimyth.org.
