MythTV 0.22 is out

Post by richb01803 » Sun Nov 08, 2009 2:43 pm

From the main MythTV site 2 days ago:

After a little over a year and a half in the making, the developers of MythTV are happy to announce that MythTV 0.22 is now available.

I've found the 0.21 version outdated and unstable. May better times come with the arrival of this new version. Pablo, have you taken a look at it yet?

While I have been producing MiniMyth builds with MythTV 0.22, I have not tried it myself. For our home, MythTV 0.21 has been functional and stable. Therefore, I am not rushing to upgrade to MythTV 0.22.

Hi Pablo,

Are you planning on producing a 0.22 build (rather than the 0.22RC build)? I'm keen to try out 0.22, but don't really want to mess about with an outdated release candidate.

All the best,

John

The latest build (72) has the released MythTV 0.22 along with a few fixes from the 0.22 fixes branch.

It took a little time because after I installed MythTV 0.22 on my system, I was able to track down and fix some of the more egregious bugs. As a result, Flash works in MythBrowser (assuming you have the Adobe Flash Player plugin), MythStream doesn't crash and MythStream's Youtube support works again.MythStream still needs some work and there are several other somewhat minor bugs that were discovered after the release (e.g. problem with suspend and resume), but they are minor.
