Any chance of support for Haupauge Nova-T cards?

Post by rjch » Mon Nov 23, 2009 7:27 am

This card has a tda1004x chipset that requires firmware to be loaded which it appears that MiniMyth doesn't have yet. I believe you have added support for the newer cards that run a Conexant chipset, but this one is missing.

The output of lspci is as follows:-
root@mythfr2:/var/log # lspci -mn
00:00.0 "0600" "1039" "0661" -r11 "1043" "8113"
00:01.0 "0604" "1039" "0003" "" ""
00:02.0 "0601" "1039" "0963" -r25 "" ""
00:02.1 "0c05" "1039" "0016" "" ""
00:02.5 "0101" "1039" "5513" -p80 "1043" "8087"
00:02.7 "0401" "1039" "7012" -ra0 "1043" "810d"
00:03.0 "0c03" "1039" "7001" -r0f -p10 "1043" "8087"
00:03.1 "0c03" "1039" "7001" -r0f -p10 "1043" "8087"
00:03.3 "0c03" "1039" "7002" -p20 "1043" "8087"
00:04.0 "0200" "1039" "0900" -r91 "1043" "80ff"
00:08.0 "0400" "109e" "036e" -r11 "1461" "0761"
00:08.1 "0480" "109e" "0878" -r11 "1461" "0761"
00:09.0 "0480" "1131" "7146" -r01 "13c2" "1011"
01:00.0 "0300" "10de" "00f2" -ra2 "107d" "2019"

There is a second tuner card in this PC which has been detected fine - I think the device you want is 00:009.0.

Quick update - this card is working fine with the following line in minimyth.conf:-

Code: Select all

MM_FIRMWARE_FILE_LIST="dvb-fe-tda10045.fw"
The best URL I was able to find for this firmware is http://xoomer.virgilio.it/ramsoft/shots ... da10045.fw since the TechnoTrend URL that the get_dvb_firmware script uses currently returns a "403 Forbidden" error.

As it turns out, the second card (an Avermedia DVB-T isn't even detected by MiniMyth - it was the Hauppauge card that was being detected, but in the absence of proper firmware for it, it wasn't functioning. I'll do some further research and see if I can figure out what's going on)

I will add it to the auto detect.

Does it require any other firmware (e.g. v4l-saa7164-1.0.2.fw or v4l-saa7164-1.0.3.fw)? The reason I ask is the vendor/product number would indicate that it might have an SAA7164.
MiniMyth running on an Acer ApireRevo 3610 and a Zotac ZBOX-ID80-U. Find out more at my MythTV page.

The card works fine in mythtv-setup with just the dvb-fe-tda10045.fw firmware. That's all I had to load in my old system. (I recently upgraded to 0.22, and currently can't get the MiniMyth slave backend to show up as connected to the master backend, but that appears to be a different problem since tuning channels works just fine)

I think the SAA7164 frontend is in the second DTV card which isn't working at all at present. That one is an Avermedia DVB-T card - cheap and nasty, though it did used to work in my old mythtv server (since I'm moving to virtualisation for most of my servers, this one is getting retired)
