Udev timeout on encrypted DVD's

Hi. First of all, I've just started with Minimyth. Seems a lot easier than the current full Fedora install I'm running on my frontend, so I thought I'dd give it a try.

My issue is this. When there is an encrypted DVD in the drive and I boot using Minimyth, it will sit for 60 seconds on the command:

Code: Select all

udevsettle --timeout=60
Apparently, udev tries to read the dvd, but it can't and will keep trying for 60 seconds. If I take out the dvd, it boot's a lot faster.

On screen I can see the messages:

Code: Select all

Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 2037177
In /var/log/messages, I see:

Code: Select all

Sep 30 16:06:20 (none) kernel: sr 1:0:0:0: SCSI error: return code = 0x08000002
Sep 30 16:06:20 (none) kernel: sr0: Current: sense key=0x3
Sep 30 16:06:20 (none) kernel: ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x0
Sep 30 16:06:20 (none) user.warn kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 16297416
Sep 30 16:06:20 (none) user.err kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 2037177
Is anyone aware of this? I've google on a fix, but can't find one.

I have not seen this on my system.

What hardware do you have?

What MiniMyth version are you using?

You're right, this is only happening with certain DVD's - not all. I know for sure this was related to at least one I burnt myself... I will investigate further, but it's probably related to my hardware and not udev / linpvr.
