Cannot connect to master backend database

Post by tassoman » Sat Jan 19, 2008 2:39 pm

I have problem booting my minimyth installation.

Should I have a mythtv installation on another computer, running the backend? Is it possible to run backend and frontend in the same network booted computer?

Yes, in order to use MiniMyth, you need a MythTV backend running on another machine. MiniMyth is a frontend only distribution.

In theory, it is possible to create a MythTV backend+frontend image as long as you have some network storage for the MySQL database and the recordings. However, MiniMyth does not support such a configuration.
MiniMyth running on an Acer ApireRevo 3610 and a Zotac ZBOX-ID80-U. Find out more at my MythTV page.
