Booting problems with minimyth-0.21.0-64bX

Post by m_theredhead » Thu Jan 22, 2009 4:09 pm

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade to minimyth-0.21.0-64bX. As of last night, I tried b8, and am getting an error when booting.

failed to fetch MiniMyth read-only configuration file ''
check '/var/log/minimyth.err.log' for further details.

The above error message is from minimyth.err.log, so I am unsure what it is looking for.

Here is my minimyth.conf
MM_SECURITY_USER_MINIMYTH_UID="609"
MM_SECURITY_USER_MINIMYTH_GID="500"
MM_ACPI_EVENT_BUTTON_POWER="sleep"
MM_X_OUTPUT_DVI='auto'
MM_X_MODE='1280x720'
MM_X_TV_TYPE="HD720p"
MM_PLUGIN_BROWSER_ENABLED="no"
MM_PLUGIN_GALLERY_ENABLED="no"
MM_PLUGIN_GAME_ENABLED="no"
MM_PLUGIN_NEWS_ENABLED="no"
MM_PLUGIN_PHONE_ENABLED="no"
MM_PLUGIN_STREAM_ENABLED="no"
MM_PLUGIN_ZONEMINDER_ENABLED="no"
MM_THEME_NAME='blootube-wide'
MM_THEMEOSD_NAME='blootube-osd'
MM_MEDIA_TV_MOUNTPOINT="/mythtv/recordings"
MM_MEDIA_TV_URL="nfs://${MM_TFTP_SERVER}/export/services/mythtv/recordings"
MM_MEDIA_MUSIC_MOUNTPOINT="/mythtv/music"
MM_MEDIA_MUSIC_URL="nfs://${MM_TFTP_SERVER}/export/services/mythtv/music"
MM_MEDIA_VIDEO_MOUNTPOINT="/mythtv/video"
MM_MEDIA_VIDEO_URL="nfs://${MM_TFTP_SERVER}/export/services/mythtv/video"
MM_MEDIA_GENERIC_LIST="/mythtv/MythVideo=nfs://${MM_TFTP_SERVER}/export/services/mythtv/MythVideo"
MM_LCDPROC_DRIVER="hd44780"
MM_LCDPROC_FETCH_LCDD_CONF="yes"

My pxelinux config file looks like:
DEFAULT minimyth-nfs

LABEL minimyth-nfs
KERNEL minimyth-0.21.0-62/kernel
APPEND ro root=/dev/nfs ip=dhcp nfsroot=192.168.101.1:/export/services/minimyth/minimyth-0.21.0-62 MM_MINIMYTH_BOOT_URL="http://192.168.101.1/minimyth/"

This all works fine on minimyth-0.21.0-62

Any thoughts on what I am missing? Do I need to define some other variable?

Maybe you should remove the " character in MM_MINIMYTH_BOOT_URL value string...

Removing the " in the MM_MINIMYTH_BOOT_URL made no difference.

Looking at the error log, it is complaining about two ticks, not a single double quote.

Any other thoughts on how to debug this issue?

If you look in /var/log/messages, you should see a line containing the failed URL. What output do you get when you run the command

Code: Select all

 curl {failed-url}

Here is what is in messages. I don't see a valid url to attempt.

The only other file, it pulls, is the LCDd.conf file. I disabled the LCD variables in the config file, and now I do not get the error and minimyth is able to boot.

I had another thread open regarding my LCD not working in current release because it never requests the file from the web server. It would appear these two issues are related. It looks like the request for LCDd.conf isn't getting expanded correctly.

Yes, that is a bug. It should be fixed in 0.21.0-64b9.

Thanks,

-64b9 does indeed pull the LCDd.conf file now and I am not getting any errors when booting.

LCDd isn't starting, but I will investigate that!

Thanks for looking into this.

I am glad the LCDd.conf file loads now.
