what has changed lately on xorg in relation of CLE266?

Post by nietu » Sat Jan 09, 2010 8:48 pm

Howdy, mine previous version of minimyth is from november 23 2009 w/ myth 0.22.

I did try to build new version couple of times within january and w/ 0.22 myth

There are some issues w/ X. Via TV output (s-video) doesn't show anything after x is starting. I can see the myth menu over VNC but not on the TV screen and also lirc doesn't accept inputs, but over vnc keyborad I/O works as it should be.

I have exactly same configuration files on both versions (now 23 and these january versions). "external" xorg.conf

Any idea?

Are you building from SVN?

More recent SVN versions build with Xorg 7.5 by default. This has several packages that are newer than the packages in Xorg 7.4, including a newer version of the server and openchrome driver. If you rebuild with mm_XORG_VERSION=7.4, does it work?

More recent SVN versions have changes to how remote controls are handled. As a result of these changes, key name can no longer be arbitrary. They must be in the LIRC namespace. Therefore, if you are using a custom lircd.conf or lircrc file, make sure that the key names are in the LIRC namespace.

Now it works, when reverting back to xorg 7.4 and openchrome 903. There is a ticket at openchrome #345 which might be the key reason for that non operating tv output.

Also lirc now functions after some mods as it should be

Thanks

Ok. I will build with Xorg 7.4 by default until that ticket is closed (or long forgotten).

0.23b11 utilises xorg7.5 at the moment

For those stumbling here with broken CLE266 video drivers on composite or svideo, please note currently (24/07/10) that the testing releases are xorg 7.5

For xorg7.4 you will need to build from gar and adjust minimyth.conf.mk accordingly to utilise xorg 7.4 and openchrome 903

The trac bug for the broken openchrome under xorg7.5 can be found here http://www.openchrome.org/trac/ticket/342
