mythfrontend segfault with 0.25.3-82-x86_64

Post by cheesy » Thu Nov 29, 2012 5:51 am

If I boot my ION 2 box with ram-minimyth-0.25.3-82-x86_64, mythwelcome starts up fine but mythfrontend repeatably crashes with:

mythfrontend[1915]: segfault at 210 ip 00007f7e29c542e7 sp 00007fff3a392e48 error 6 in libc.so.6[7f7e29b14000+1b3000]

Unfortunately there's little else of interest in the logs. I have no problems with the equivalent 32-bit build.

I've got this problem, too. Tried two different computers just in case. Both AMD-based ASUS motherboards, to not a great test, but it's all I've got laying around here right now. mythtv-setup does run and display properly, and xscreensaver is sitting there showing a nice slideshow of my pics, but no frontend, just a white-ish screen til the slideshow starts up :) Downloading 32-bit now to see if it helps any.

Started out trying 83b1, but it has an issue starting X at all, nothing useful (to me anyway) in any of the logs, just a black screen with no nothing.

Totally happy to help in whatever way I can with the troubleshooting if you're interested, Pablo!!!

Interesting, v0.25.3-82 32-bit appears to work. I guess I'm okay with this since I've only got 1 gig in this frontend box, but my offer of helping work out whatever's wrong with the 64-bit version still stands.

Just ran into the 83b1 problem myself, ed. Take a look at this:
