How to pass console video mode via PXE?

Post by cj8scrambler » Sun Nov 02, 2003 7:40 pm

I am trying to get the Linux Progress Patch working on my mini-myth system so that instead of seeing the kernel boot info, you see a pretty picture with a scrolling progress bar. I've got the kernel patched and compiled, but I can't figure out how to set the video mode. In lilo, it's done with a 'vga=0x301' directive, but I can't find any equivalent directive for the PXE default config file. Anyone have any ideas?

Hmm. Not sure about that. PXELinux is pretty much the same as SYSLinux when it comes to the config file. I found a thread talking about this, so I would start at http://www.zytor.com/pipermail/syslinux ... 01831.html and click on next a few more times to get more of the story.

Good luck. I would like this too, but I won't get to it until I have a few other things done first.

I have
append vga=791
as part of my gentoo remote install That I think worked, but I can't try it atm.
