1 x sp8000 minimyth frontend
1 x sp13000 minimyth frontend
1 x fileserver mythbackend + samba + tftp
Both frontends remote boot minimyth from the fileserver.
All wrt54gl are running OpenWRT White Russian 0.9 firmware.
ap1 is connected via ethernet to the adsl router.
ap2 is standalone, in the living room upstairs.
ap3 is standalone, in the den downstairs.
WDS configuration is as follows:
ap1 -> ap2
ap2 -> ap1
ap2 -> ap3
ap3 -> ap2
I have dvd iso images, flacs, and mp3s on the fileserver in the living room. The fileserver is connected via ethernet to ap2. The SP8000 is also connected with ethernet to ap2.
Downstairs in the den, the SP13000 is connected with ethernet to ap3.
I thought that 802.11g in WDS mode might not be enough bandwidth to stream dvd isos downstairs, but the wrt54gl is so cheap now that I just had to give it a try. I just watched "Die Another Day" dvd iso downstairs in the den and it played over WDS without a single hiccup.
Less than 2000 euro into the entire system now, and it works great! Now if I could just get my technotrend C2300 working in the backend (QAM128 problems), everything would be perfect.
