This motherboard was bought as a low wattage replacement for my current P4 Mythbackend (which consumes 100W when idle). I couldn't resist to see if it would boot Minimyth, which it did!

Just enabled PXE booting in the BIOS, added the MAC address to my DHCP server and had it boot ram-minimyth-0.21.0-62b6-nvidia.180.16. It booted out of the box without any issues. I have only tried the VGA port and analog audio. Not sure how to use digital audio with this board. It seems it only offers digital audio to separate videocards that have HDMI out and allow digital audio injection.

The watt-meter shows that it uses 41W when idle (Sempron LE-1250 CPU and 2x1 GB RAM (single sided)). This is with:

Code: Select all

MM_CPU_FREQUENCY_GOVERNOR='powersave'
in the minimyth.conf file.

The powersupply in my backend should be a bit more powerefficient than the one I used for this test. As a backend with two tuners and three harddisks it will probably consume about half of what it currently burns away.
