success: Intel D945GCLF2

This is a mini-ITXcompatible board with an Dual-Core Intel Atom 330 Processor.
I run it with 512MB Ram.
The case I use is a NOAH 3988B80.
As it's located in the living room, I had to unplug the internal fan, because this is really too loud.
Still, the temperature does not reach anything near a problem (the spec of the board says something about max 95°C, but the chip only gets about 45°C).
For the remote control, I plugged in the infrared USB receiver included in the TechniSat SkyStar 2 TV into a front socket of the case.

Hi,

I have the same board but I have a problem with it. I tried to boot off a compact flash card (256Mb) but it dosent work.

It telling me "no bootable device found"

I use a compact flash to ide adaptor and the latest syslinux (3.35 I think) but nothing work.

If I use a usb key and do the exact same steps, everything is OK. but my main goal is to use a compact flash card.

How did you make your motherboard boot up ?

thank for any info on this.

I was also trying a CF card as a first guess, but I also could not get it to work.
Then I checked how to do the network boot, and I must say: I don't know why I ever thought about booting from the CF.
It's so simple and you have no hassle when you want to upgrade MiniMyth etc. No fiddling around with the CF card anymore,
not to say you don't need to touch or open the case at all!

Thanks for the posting. I just bought this board. It was $85 and it works great.

Anyone needing S-Video should give this board a try.
