Burn nuv files to dvd and playback with MiniMyth ?

Post by tpind » Sat Dec 31, 2005 9:56 am

Is there any way that I can burn nuv files directly to a dvd and play them back with the MiniMyth from the DVD ?

I have tried with play dvd and vcd, but that does not work for me.

You could try including your dvd mount in the path for mythvideo.

Not sure if minimyth actually mounts dvd's, so you may have to add that too...

Pablo's the man, he can tell you.

If you can't get the paths set properly for reading a NUV file from the DVD, here are the basic instructions for creating DVD-Video from an MPEG2 NUV MythTV recording: Archiving Stuff to DVD. It does take a lot more effort and time than just burning the NUV file to the DVD, though.

I recently burned a show to DVD following the MythTV docs:
http://mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-23.html#ss23.19

It worked just fine on all the DVD players I tried. I did not try minimyth because I am on an old version, but I did try Xine (that is an old version too) and it worked fine. I don't see why this would not work in minimyth.

At one time MiniMyth used supermount to automatically mount the CD/DVD drive, so Eduardo's suggestion would have worked. However, supermount does not work with the current Linux kernels. Replacements, such as autofs, are not ideal and interact badly with MythTV's CD/DVD monitoring option. As a result, MiniMyth no longer automounts the CD/DVD drive.

Therefore, your best bet is to follow JonathanL and lmatter's suggestion.
