MiniMyth using VGA outputs

Post by furfurfur » Thu Jan 05, 2006 11:47 am

Hi All

I'm using 0.18.1.10 currently to drive a widescreen PAL TV over Composite AV (yuck) but I'm considering getting a new LCD TV with VGA inputs at some point.

Does anyone use MiniMyth in this manner? The TV will be HD "compliant" and I'm really not sure how I would configure MiniMyth. Would I configure xorg.conf to match the native res of the LCD, or use a standard HD res?

Any hints would be appreciated as I'm in the dark here.

Thanks
James

I have an 16x9 NTSC LCD TV that has a DVI-I intput. I connect the VGA output to the DVI-I input and it works fine.

The resolutions that you can support will depend on the resolutions supported by your TV and your particular EPIA motherboard.

My TV has a vertical resolution of 768. I have found that the best setup for me is to use 1024x768 modeline with a 6x9 display size and then tell the TV to stretch the image.

Thanks - I thought that might be the case, at least I know now it should work OK.
