what happened to 70b7 video?

Postby bowmo » Sun Oct 11, 2009 7:07 pm

Hi Pablo

I just tried 70b7, which results in unwatchable output to my TV, picture is rolling and "flickering". if I use 70b5 then it is working fine.

So what is the changes between 70b5 and b7?

Hardware is Epia M10k, using S-Video to a 32" CRT.

Regards

In addition to other things, the xf86-video-openchrome was updated between 70b5 and 70b7. If you are willing to test it, I can upload a version with the older xf86-video-openchrome driver. Unfortunately, all my VIA hardware has died, so I cannot test it.

Could you give 70b8 a try?

Sorry Pablo, I was away for a couple of days, so I missed the 70b8 version completely.

I was trying the 21-70 release, but it complains about huludata read-write configuration data.. (I can't use hulu as I'm in Denmark)

Yes, that is an unfortunate bug. Setting MM_HULU_STORE_HULUDESKTOP_DATA to 'no' should deal with it. So should setting MM_HULU_URL to 'none'.

I just found that part in the documentation pages, so now I'm up and running on 21-70, without any problems..

Anyway, thanks for great support :)

Pablo, could you upload the 70b7 version, and/or a latest test version with updated openchrome drivers?
Thanks.
